Porsche is in the latter stages of developing a series of mid-life revisions for its best-selling Porsche Panamera model. As well as a revised headlight design and new front bumper the Panamera's controversial rear end will get a 'tail lift'.
It is not entirely clear from these spy shots snapped in Germany the exact shape the rear will take in production, but it is clear that the new rear end will see the new bumper moulding standing proud the lower tailgate and the numberplate plinth. The overall effect should be to give the Panamera a more four-square, planted, stance.

With the all-new Boxster taking the limelight at Geneva in March, the tweaked Panamera could be unveiled in April at either the New York or Beijing auto shows.
At the moment, the big hatchback is Porsche's second biggest-selling model after being overtaken by the Cayenne SUV which, in recent months, accounted for over 50 per cent of all Porsche sales. Porsche's overall sales are also booming, with year-on-year sales to November up by nearly 25 per cent.
Reports say that Porsche will soon add a third shift at the Leipzig plant that builds the Panamera and Cayenne in order to meet the booming demand.
