Celebrate Black History Month In Metro Detroit

Tallahassee Mayor John Marks was the keynote speaker for members of FSU's Black Student Union at their opening ceremony to honor the month long celebration. Marks graduated from FSU back in 1969 and then received his law degree from the school in 1972.

On the list: Issaquah First Friday Wine Walk; Black History Month, Museum of Flight; Antique & Collectible Show in Puyallup. Films opening Friday include Daniel Radcliffe's "The Woman in Black"; the Oscar-nominated Iranian drama "A Separation";

Debuting tonight on PBS as part of the "Independent Lens" series, it stands tall among television's fresh wave of programs marking Black History Month. The daughter of an Arkansas mill worker, Bates seemingly wasn't born to make history.

In honor of Black History Month, we wanted to take a look at the influence of black comedians through the eyes of the artists who are following in their footsteps. So we brought six up-and-coming young comics together for a unique roundtable discussion
