Falcon Motorsports has revealed its new Falcon F7 supercar at the Detroit motor show. The F7 is the work of Michigan-based tuning firm Falcon and is seen in production form exactly one year on from the Falcon Mach 7 conce pt at last year's show.
Power for the concept comes from Chevrolet's 7.0-litre V8 LS7 engine, tuned to produce a mighty 612bhp and 600lb ft. Upgrades over the standard engine include a carbonfibre intake manifold and a revamped ECU. The F7 weighs in at 1263kg.
The bodywork is all made from carbonfibre. The chassis is a hydroformed tube chassis, with the suspension based on the current generation Corvette. Falcon claims the bodywork is well suited to low volume production; the firm plans to build just 20 F7s per year.
Inside, the retro-themed interior gets features including special leather sports seats and aluminium trim for the instruments and switchgear.
The F7 is set to cost $ 225,000 when it goes into production later this year.
